In the first part of this post, I highlighted how our people are at the mercy of media mudslinging by a section of the country that has the mastery of the media and a people that regard Igbos as their arch-rivals. The media war against our people didn't start today.
1. For years, any report of robbery incident in other parts of the country are reported cautiously to avoid damaging the reputation of the suspects as they are presumed innocent until proved otherwise by a court of competent jurisdiction. To that effect, suspects' faces are blurred to hide their real identities. But if crime is committed in Southeast, the faces of the suspects, their full names and their addresses are laid bare for public consumption, even when they are still suspects under investigation.
2. The tone of the reports are also crafty chosen to destroy the reputation of Igbo people. Check the following reports.
E.g. (a) "A middle aged Igbo man Okonkwo Eze (not real name) has been nabbed by security agents for stealing 10,000 Naira belonging to his boss."
(b) A Nigerian wins the best graduating student of year in American University. The Nigeria student Okonkwo Eze (not real name) was born by a Nigeria parent residing in Ohio - United States of America.
The points I am making here is that we are under the sledge hammer of prejudiced media outfits, dishing out reports against my people; the Igbos in the contraption.
The Yoruba media projected Sunday Igboho as a Yoruba activist, but Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is referred to as a secessionist by the same media.
Any brilliant Igbo man is reported as a Nigerian but those caught in criminal act are reported as Igbo boys. This is the Yoruba media way of fighting a racial war against the Igbos.
Goodluck Johnathan could not go for a second tenure, because he was bombarded on two fronts. While some people in the North provided terrorism, banditry and abduction to make Nigeria ungovernable, some people in Southwest on their part used their media to demonise the person of Goodluck Jonathan, the word "clueless" became popular in his regime.
This is the time to pay the Southwest for a job well done for the North, that is the rationale behind Emi lokan; "it's my turn" syndrome propelling some Southwest politicians currently.
No amount of killing, intimidation or arson committed by Yoruba APC touts in Lagos will be reported by Yoruba Media houses.
Even if Peter Obi is sworn in as the President of Nigeria after the Election Petition Tribunal cases, it’s not going to change anything.
The events of recent times have justified our audacious quest for Biafra Restoration, because ndi is not wanted in Nigeria if they cannot vote according to their conscience in some sections of the country.
Igbo communities are razed down by police, army and Fulani bandits, yet no arrest or prosecution. Igbo shops are burnt down, Igbo people intimidated, molested and killed in North and Southwest and there is neither arrest nor prosecution by security agents.
Our blood cannot be used as sacrifice again to cement a nonexistence Nigeria unity, by Britain.
